In Gold Volcano, symbols will rise up the grid on each spin. When 4 or more symbols connect horizontally or vertically, this will create a winning cluster. Every winning symbol will be removed, and the pressure inside the volcano will force new symbols to cascade upwards, riding the waves of lava to fill the empty spaces above. But, as you should expect, mother nature doesn’t always play by the rules… During the base game, there are some exciting features to unlock which can lead to some much greater wins!

Dormant
This feature is triggered randomly when the base game is non-winning. However, don’t get too relaxed – this is just the calm before the storm… 1 of 3 effects will be performed, and the effects can be played once per spin, in any order, with a total limit of 3 effects per spin.

The Rumble effect will cause the grid of symbols to be shuffled, and a single Scatter symbol will be created following the shake-up. The Lava effect will add an additional layer of any symbol, except Scatters, to spew from the top of the volcano, running down the sides. And finally, the Excavate effect will cause between 3 and 5 Wild symbols to appear in random locations on the grid, potentially creating a slurry of winning combinations.

Pressure
When winning symbols are removed, there is a chance that the pressure will build up beyond normal levels, and this feature will trigger. A Wild symbol is created at random in an available empty space before the new symbols rise up. This Wild symbol will act as a substitute for all symbols except the Scatters. These Wild symbols can randomly be assigned a x2 multiplier, as well, providing you with a boost to that winning combination. When part of the same win, Wild symbols displaying a multiplier will multiply with one another.

Crystallisation
During the base game, Scatter symbols can be collected on each spin. Each Scatter that appears on the grid will add to the collection, and once three, six, and nine have been collected, the Crystallisation feature will trigger. The respective symbols will crystallize, turning into Gold – the most valuable symbol on the grid. This will reset at the end of each round, except when the Eruption feature occurs which will carry progress over.

Eruption
A dangerous occurrence, to be sure, but a huge eruption like this is going to bring with it the chance to find some great treasures… This feature occurs once six consecutive symbol cascades have taken place and will activate once no more cascades occur after those initial six. Five Free Spins will be awarded and are played on a larger 8x8 grid, with fiery lava rising and spewing from the Gold Volcano, bringing with it riches from below the Earth’s crust.

Two central columns of symbols will rise to the top of the grid and push outwards to fill the new positions on the 8x8 grid. With each subsequent six cascades, an extra Free Spin will be awarded, too!

Just be careful – the gold and gems that you might find after such an event won’t be of much use to you if you can’t escape the fiery inferno...
